When you become a member and register for the Merz Institute of Advanced Aesthetics (“MIAA”) we will use your personal information to process your registration and provide our services to you. The details we collect from you when you become a registered member include your name, address, email address, telephone number, specialism and professional registration number.
To complete your registration, we may share your personal information with our subcontractors who are involved in the membership application process, such as payment providers, as well as credit reference agencies who we use to assess fraud, credit and/or security risks. We also verify your personal data against your professional regulatory authority.
We also use your personal data such as your email address to deliver medical, healthcare and scientific related information by email that you may have purchased as part of your registration.
We need to process your personal information in the above ways to register you as a member and provide the registered membership services and benefits to you.
When you sign up and attend one of our events via our website (such as attending a Merz meeting or training event), we will collect the following information from you: name, address, email address, phone number, clinic name and professional registration number. If you are already a member and register to attend an event, we will use the registration details we already hold on file for you to confirm your booking. The details we collect from you will include your name, address, payment and other contact details. We need to use your personal information in this way to complete the booking contract between us.
We provide a delegate list to the organisations and other individuals who attend our events. We do this because our events provide a useful network opportunity and we have a legitimate interest in wanting to help build and develop the aesthetics community. When you make purchases through our website
When you purchase training materials or services through our website, we will use your personal information to complete your purchase. The details we collect from you will include your name, address, email address, phone number, professional registration number and payment details.

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal or accounting requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for the personal information we hold, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal information, the risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal information, the reasons why we handle your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
